  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • garlic powder - 1/2 tsp
  • chili powder - 1 Tbsp
  • can tomato sauce - 1 item
  • hamburger and onion, browned and drained - 1 lb
  • cans red beans and sauce kidney or pinto - 2 item
  • cornbread mix or cornbread made to recipe - 2 pkg

How to make mexican cornbread casserole:

Add the chili powder, garlic powder and sugar to the browned and drained hamburger and onion. After mixing that, add the tomato sauce and beans and sauce. Put mixture in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Spread prepared cornbread (uncooked) over the top. Follow instructions on cornbread for cooking.
