  • soda - 1/8 tsp
  • buttermilk - 1/2 c
  • cooking oil - 1/3 c
  • grated sharp Cheddar cheese - 1/2 c
  • cream-style corn - 1/2 c
  • self-rising meal - 3/4 c
  • small eggs - 2 item
  • small hot pepper, chopped - 1 item

How to make mexican cornbread:

Mix all ingredients except cheese. Pour half of batter into hot, greased, black skillet. Sprinkle cheese on top and add remainder of batter. Bake at 375° for 30 minutes.
