Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 tsp
  • salt - 3 tsp
  • water - 3 c
  • pepper - 1 tsp
  • Parmesan cheese - 1/2 c
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • cottage cheese - 4 c
  • Italian seasoning - 3 tsp
  • minced onion - 1 c
  • cans tomato paste - 3 oz
  • shredded Monterey Jack cheese - 2 c
  • to 18 manicotti shells - 16 item

How to make manicotti:

Saute meat and onions; drain fat. Add tomato paste, water, salt, pepper, sugar and Italian seasoning. Simmer 15 minutes. Fill dry manicotti shells with mixture of 3 cheeses. (Use narrow teaspoon to push cheese mixture into end of shell until filled.) Cover bottom of 9 x 13-inch pan with sauce. Place filled shells next to each other and cover with remaining sauce. Cover pan tightly with heavy-duty foil. Bake 1 to 1 1/2 hours at 350°.
