Mandarin almond salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 Tbsp
- vegetable oil
- vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- sliced almonds - 1/2 c
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- chopped parsley - 1 Tbsp
- green onions, chopped - 2 item
- can mandarin oranges, drained - 1 oz
- dash of Tabasco - 1 item
- head romaine lettuce - 1/2 item
- head iceberg lettuce - 1/2 item
How to make mandarin almond salad:
Dressing:1/4 c. vegetable oil2 Tbsp. sugar dash of Tabasco2 Tbsp. vinegar1 Tbsp. chopped parsley salt and pepper to taste In small pan over medium heat, cook almonds and sugar, stirring constantly until almonds are coated and sugar is dissolved. Cool and store in airtight container.Dressing: Mix all ingredients together and chill.
Mix lettuce, celery and onions. Just before serving, add oranges and almonds. Toss with dressing.
