Mandarin salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 Tbsp
- salt
- vegetable oil - 1/4 c
- vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- sliced almonds - 1/2 c
- can mandarin oranges - 1 oz
- chopped celery - 1 c
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- chopped parsley - 1 Tbsp
- green onions, chopped - 2 item
- dash of Tabasco sauce - 1 item
- head romaine lettuce - 1/2 item
- head iceberg lettuce - 1/2 item
How to make mandarin salad:
Dressing:1/2 tsp. salt dash of pepper1/4 c. vegetable oil1 Tbsp. chopped parsley2 Tbsp. sugar2 Tbsp. vinegar dash of Tabasco sauce In a small pan over medium heat, cook almonds and sugar, stirring constantly until almonds are coated and sugar is dissolved. Watch carefully and remove immediately from heat. Cool and store in airtight container.Mix all dressing ingredients and chill until ready to use. Mix lettuce, celery and onions in salad bowl. Add almonds and oranges and toss with dressing just before serving.
