Macaroni and cheese
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 item
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- butter
- nutmeg - 1 item
- melted butter - 1 c
- cream - 1 c
- Parmesan cheese - 1 item
- dash of paprika - 1 item
- cayenne pepper - 1 item
- scalded milk - 1 c
- mostaccioli pasta - 1 lb
- Cream Sauce recipe follows - 1 c
- chopped medium Cheddar cheese - 1 c
How to make macaroni and cheese:
Cream Sauce:1 Tbsp. butter1 Tbsp. flour cayenne pepper salt nutmeg1 c. scalded milk Boil mostaccioli until tender, but not well done; drain. Add the Cheddar, melted butter, Cream Sauce and cream; mix thoroughly, but gently. Spread the mixture in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Cover with Parmesan and paprika. Bake in a 400° oven until golden brown, about 30 minutes. Makes 6 servings.Cream Sauce: Melt butter in a saucepan. Stir in flour and season to taste with cayenne, salt and nutmeg. Add milk and let simmer 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Makes 1 cup.
