Macaroni and cheese
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 gal
- salt - 3/4 c
- flour - 2 c
- butter - 1 c
- paprika - 1 tsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- macaroni
- cheese, chopped
- can pimento strips optional - 1 oz
How to make macaroni and cheese:
Cook macaroni with 1/2 cup salt until tender. Drain and rinse with water. Melt butter in kettle; stir in flour until smooth. Add milk and cook until thickened. Add remaining salt (1/4 cup) paprika, pepper and cheese. Cook until cheese melts. Stir in macaroni. Pour into greased baking pan. Garnish with pimento strips. Bake for 30 minutes or until brown in a 375° oven. Yield: 50 to 55 servings.Recipe categories: Cheese, Pasta, Elbow macaroni.
