Ingredients/Components
- carrots - 2 item
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- onion, chopped - 1 item
- tomato juice - 2 c
- lentils wash and soak for 30 minutes in 2 quarts water - 1 lb
- parsley, celery, bay leaf optional - 1 item
- ham, bacon or bologna pieces for seasoning - 1 item
How to make lentil soup:
Cook lentils for 20 minutes. Add the rest of ingredients and simmer until vegetables are soft; 30 minutes or so. Our family enjoys this.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Soups & stews, Pork.
