Ingredients/Components
- red wine vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- cloves garlic, minced - 2 item
- parsley - 1/8 tsp
- olive oil - 2 Tbsp
- fresh ground pepper to taste - 1 item
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- dried basil - 1/8 tsp
- stalks celery, chopped - 2 item
- bay leaves - 2 item
- carrots, chopped - 2 item
- lentils - 1 lb
- whole chicken breasts, skinned, boned and cut into 1 x 1/2-inch pieces - 2 item
- stewed tomatoes or 1 lb - 1 oz
How to make lentil soup:
Wash and pick over lentils; place in large pot. Cover with water; boil 2 minutes. Drain, rinse and return to pot. Add 4 cups water and chicken broth or stock. Boil.
