Lemon sauce
Ingredients/Components
- granulated sugar - 1/2 c
- butter - 3 Tbsp
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- boiling water - 1 c
- lemon juice
- dash of nutmeg - 1 item
How to make lemon sauce:
Combine sugar and cornstarch. Add boiling water gradually while stirring constantly. Boil 6 minutes, then remove from heat. Add butter, lemon juice, salt and nutmeg. Serves 6. Serve with bread, steamed or cottage pudding.For Vanilla Sauce: Omit lemon juice and add 1 teaspoon vanilla.
