Lemon poppy seed pound cake
Ingredients/Components
- butter, softened - 1 c
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 4 item
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- powdered sugar
- lemon juice - 1 2
- poppy seed - 1/4 c
- grated lemon peel - 4 tsp
How to make lemon poppy seed pound cake:
Frosting:1 c. powdered sugar1 to 2 Tbsp. lemon juice Heat oven to 325°. In large mixer bowl, combine all cake ingredients. Beat at low speed until all ingredients are moistened. Beat on high speed, scraping bowl often, until smooth, 1 to 2 minutes. Pour into greased and floured 10-inch tube pan. Bake for 55 to 65 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Cool and drizzle frosting over cake. Makes 12 to 16 servings.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Fruit.
