Lemon poppy seed pound cake
Ingredients/Components
- butter, softened - 1 c
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 4 item
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- powdered sugar
- plain flour - 3 c
- lemon juice - 1 2
- poppy seed - 1/4 c
- grated lemon peel - 4 tsp
How to make lemon poppy seed pound cake:
Glaze:1 c. powdered sugar1 to 2 Tbsp. lemon juice Preheat oven to 325°. In large mixer bowl, combine all cake ingredients. Beat at low speed, until all ingredients are moistened. Beat at high speed for 1 to 2 minutes, until smooth. Pour into greased and floured 12 cup Bundt pan or 10-inch tube pan. Bake for 55 to 65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pan. Cool completely.In small bowl, stir together powdered sugar and lemon juice until smooth. Drizzle over cake.
