  • eggs - 4 item
  • vanilla - 1/2 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • butter - 1 c
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • lemon juice - 1 2
  • poppy seed - 1/4 c
  • grated lemon peel - 4 tsp
  • all-purpose cake flour - 3 c
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream sugar and butter; add eggs

How to make lemon poppy seed pound cake:

Preheat oven to 325°. In a large mixing bowl, cream sugar and butter; add eggs. Mix dry ingredients. Add flour and milk alternately, then flavoring. Pour into a greased and floured tube pan. Bake for 55 to 65 minutes. Cool 10 minutes in pan. Remove and cool completely. In a small bowl, mix glaze and drizzle over cake.Glaze:1 c. powdered sugar1 to 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
