  • egg yolks - 3 item
  • grated lemon rind - 1 tsp
  • pinch of salt - 1 item
  • water
  • lemon juice - 1/3 c
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • sugar
  • cornstarch
  • Meringue:3 egg whites
  • salt - 1/8 tsp
  • cream of tartar - 1/2 tsp
  • vanilla - 1/8 tsp

How to make lemon pie:

Meringue:3 egg whites1/8 tsp. salt1/2 tsp. cream of tartar1/8 tsp. vanilla3 Tbsp. sugar Beat egg yolks. Add water and all other ingredients. Cook in double boiler until thick. Pour in baked pie crust.

Beat egg whites, vanilla and salt until stiff. Add 3 tablespoons sugar and cream of tartar. Cover pie filling with meringue and brown.
