Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- butter or margarine - 3 Tbsp
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- cornstarch - 1/2 c
- water
- egg yolks - 4 item
- cream of tartar - 1/2 3/4
- lemon juice - 1/2 c
- grated lemon rind - 1 tsp
- baked 9-inch pastry shell deep - 1 item
- Combine egg yolks, water and lemon juice; stir into sugar mixture

Combine the first 3 items in a saucepan; set aside. Combine egg yolks, water and lemon juice; stir into sugar mixture. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.
