Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 5 c
- butter - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- pure lemon extract - 1 oz
How to make lemon drops:
Filling:2 c. sugar1 c. butter1 c. Crisco1 tsp. vanilla6 Tbsp. flour2 c. milk Cream together sugar, Crisco, butter and eggs. Sift flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture. Add milk and lemon extract. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Grease cookie sheet. Drop dough in powdered sugar and roll into 1-inch balls. Bake at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes; cool. Slice tops off and fill.Filling: Cook flour and milk until thick. Let cool and add rest of ingredients; whip. Keep cookies refrigerated.
