Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- buttermilk - 1 c
- boiling water - 3/4 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- flour - 4 c
- baking soda - 2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- cocoa - 1/2 c
- Add buttermilk, water and vanilla
- milk - 1/2 c
- butter - 1/4 c
- shortening - 1/4 c
How to make gobs:
Cream the sugar, Crisco and eggs together. Add buttermilk, water and vanilla. Sift together the remaining ingredients and add. Drop from spoon on cookie sheet. Bake at 450° for 5 minutes.Filling for Gobs:2 Tbsp. flour1/2 c. milk1/4 c. butter1/4 c. shortening1/2 c. sugar1 tsp. vanilla Make a paste of flour and milk. Cook and cool. Cream the shortening. Add sugar, vanilla and then paste. You can use 1 stick oleo in place of the shortening and butter.Recipe categories: Desserts, < 60 mins, For large groups.
