  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour - 3 c
  • butter - 1 c
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Crisco - 1/2 c
  • lemon extract - 1 tsp

How to make virginia pound cake:

Cream together sugar, butter and Crisco. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Combine flour, baking powder and salt and add alternately with milk. Beat until fluffy. Add vanilla and lemon extract. Pour into Bundt or tube pan. Bake at 325° for 1 hour.
