Ingredients/Components
- orange slices - 1 lb
- dates - 1 lb
- pecans - 2 c
- sticks butter - 2 item
- flour - 2 c
- buttermilk
- soda - 1 tsp
- eggs - 4 item
- coconut - 7 oz
- orange rind - 1 item
How to make orange slice cake:
Cut fruit and nuts in small pieces. Leave cut up overnight in pan. Sift 2 cups flour over mixture. Cream butter and sugar with eggs. Add soda with remaining flour and buttermilk to mixture. Pour over fruit mixture; mix well. Bake 2 1/2 hours at 275°. While hot, mix 2 cups brown sugar with 1 cup orange juice and pour over cake.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Fruit.
