- sugar - 1 item
- boiling water - 1 item
- vinegar - 1 item
- cabbage - 1 item
- canning salt - 1 item
- chopped hot peppers optional - 1 item
How to make kraut:
Put 1 teaspoon salt in bottom of quart jar. Fill with cut cabbage. On top of cabbage, put 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon sugar and 1 teaspoon vinegar. Fill jar until cabbage is covered. Seal tight.
