Kansas city barbecue sauce
Ingredients/Components
- butter or margarine - 3 Tbsp
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- molasses - 1/2 c
- cider vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- lemon juice - 1/4 c
- Worcestershire sauce - 1/4 c
- mustard - 1/4 c
- chopped green pepper - 1/2 c
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- dash of Tabasco sauce - 1 item
- bottle ketchup - 1 oz
- clove garlic, crushed - 1 item
- liquid smoke - 1 tsp
How to make kansas city barbecue sauce:
Saute onion, green pepper and garlic in butter until tender. Stir in ketchup and molasses until smooth. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer, stirring frequently, for 20 minutes. Cover and refrigerate. Makes 4 cups.Recipe categories: Sauces, Condiments, etc., Savory sauces.
