Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1 item
  • can tomato sauce - 1 oz
  • dry white wine - 1/2 c
  • olive oil - 1 Tbsp
  • parsley, chopped - 1/2 c
  • minced garlic - 1 tsp
  • medium onion, chopped - 1 item
  • rice, uncooked - 1 c
  • bell pepper, chopped - 3/4 c
  • smoked sausage - 1 lb
  • green onion, chopped - 1/2 c
  • hot sauce or cayenne pepper - 1 item

How to make jambalaya:

Over medium heat in a deep skillet or pot, saute the onions, bell pepper and parsley in olive oil until onions are clear. Add garlic, tomato sauce, wine and smoked sausage. Add rice and cover with enough water to cover by 1-inch. Salt to taste. Add cayenne or hot sauce to taste. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover and let stand for 30 to 45 minutes.
