Jambalaya
Ingredients/Components
- margarine - 2 Tbsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- minced garlic or more to suit - 1 tsp
- boneless, skinless chicken, cut in 1-inch strips - 1 lb
- yellow pepper, cored and diced - 1 item
- ham, cut in 1/4-inch strips - 1/4 lb
- Italian or Mexican tomato sauce - 3 c
- cooked long grain rice - 2 c
- minced green onions tops and all - 1/4 c
How to make jambalaya:
Melt margarine over medium heat. Add onion, garlic and pepper. Cook to transparent (3 or 4 minutes). Add chicken, tomato sauce and ham. Bring to boil, then simmer 5 minutes, stirring often. Meanwhile, you have chopped the onion and cooked the riceRecipe categories: Poultry, Meat, Cajun.
