Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1 tsp
  • water - 3 c
  • vegetable oil - 2 Tbsp
  • black pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • garlic cloves, minced - 2 item
  • chopped green onion - 1 c
  • red pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • medium onions, chopped - 2 item
  • raw rice - 1 c
  • green bell pepper, chopped - 1 item
  • sausage - 1 lb

How to make jambalaya:

Brown sausage in oil, then drain fat. Add onions, green onion, bell pepper and garlic to sausage. Cook over medium heat for 10 minutes. Stir occasionally. Season with salt, black pepper and red pepper.

Place rice with water in large thick pot. Bring to a boil. Add meat mixture to rice and continue to cook and stir over medium heat for 25 to 30 minutes or until rice is tender.
