  • sugar
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 3 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1/4 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1 c
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • nutmeg - 1 tsp
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • raisins optional - 1/2 c
  • cloves - 1/2 tsp
  • allspice - 1 tsp
  • salad oil - 1 c
  • box powdered sugar - 1 lb
  • small can crushed pineapple - 1 item
  • blackberry jam - 1 c
  • Add well beaten eggs

How to make jam cake:

Cream together until light and fluffy the salad oil and sugar. Add well beaten eggs. Sift flour before measuring and add it to the spices and salt. Dissolve soda in buttermilk, add it and the dry mixture alternately to the egg, sugar and salad oil mixture. Beat after each addition. Lightly dredge the fruit and nuts with extra flour and add. Next, add pineapple and jam. Stir to get good distribution. Grease and flour 3 (8 or 9-inch) pans. Fill and bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350°.Caramel Icing1/2 c. margarine1 c. brown sugar1/4 c. milk1 lb. box powdered sugar Boil margarine and brown sugar about 2 minutes. Remove from heat and add milk. Return to heat; let boil about 1 second. Let cool; mix in sifted powdered sugar. Spread on cake.
