Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 Tbsp
  • water - 3 c
  • grated Parmesan cheese - 1 item
  • ground beef - 2 lb
  • medium onion, finely chopped - 1 item
  • cloves garlic, crushed - 2 item
  • green pepper, finely chopped - 1 item
  • bay leaf, crushed - 1 item
  • oregano leaves - 1 tsp
  • each tomato sauce - 2 cans
  • pitted ripe olives, drained and sliced - 1 can
  • each tomato paste - 2 cans
  • Italian style spaghetti sauce mix with mushrooms - 2 envelopes
  • Italian style spaghetti - 16 oz

How to make italian spaghetti with meat sauce:

Cook and stir meat, onion and pepper until meat is brown and onion is tender. Stir in remaining ingredients except spaghetti and Parmesan cheese. Cover; simmer 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.

Cook spaghetti as directed on package; drain. Serve meat sauce over spaghetti; pass Parmesan cheese. Serves 8.
