Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- flour - 2 c
- egg yolks - 5 item
- coconut - 1 c
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- egg whites - 5 item
- nuts - 1 c
- stick butter - 1 item
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
- Stiffly beat and then fold in egg whites
- Crisco or 1/2 stick margarine - 1/2 c
How to make italian cream cake:
Combine all ingredients except egg whites and mix well. Stiffly beat and then fold in egg whites. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes. Let cake cool. Makes 3 (8-inch) layers.Icing:1 (8 oz.) cream cheese1/2 c.
