  • sugar - 2 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1/2 c
  • flour - 2 c
  • egg yolks - 5 item
  • coconut - 1 c
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • egg whites - 5 item
  • nuts - 1 c
  • stick butter - 1 item
  • Crisco - 1/2 c
  • box powdered sugar - 1 item
  • Stiffly beat and then fold in egg whites
  • Crisco or 1/2 stick margarine - 1/2 c

How to make italian cream cake:

Combine all ingredients except egg whites and mix well. Stiffly beat and then fold in egg whites. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes. Let cake cool. Makes 3 (8-inch) layers.Icing:1 (8 oz.) cream cheese1/2 c. Crisco or 1/2 stick margarine1 box powdered sugar1/2 c. chopped nuts Mix ingredients together and ice cool cake.
