Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • eggs - 6 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • sour cream - 1 c
  • all purpose flour - 3 c
  • butter or margarine, softened
  • grated orange or lemon peel - 1 tsp
  • baking powder and salt - 1/2 tsp

How to make sour cream pound cake:

Heat oven to 350°. Generously grease and lightly flour 12 cup tube pan. In large bowl, beat sugar and butter until light and fluffy; add vanilla and eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add flour, orange peel, baking powder and salt. Add sour cream; beat well. Pour batter into pan. Bake at 350° for 55 to 60 minutes until toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean. Cool 15 minutes. Invert onto serving plate; cool completely.
