Italian chicken and rice
Ingredients/Components
- water
- grated Parmesan cheese - 2/3 c
- uncooked rice - 1 c
- Italian seasoning, divided - 1 tsp
- can whole tomatoes, undrained and broken up - 1 1/2
- processed cheese spread Velveeta, cubed - 1/2 lb
- finely chopped onion more or less to your liking - 1/4 c
- garlic powder more or less to your liking - 1/4 tsp
- chicken, cut into 8 pieces or 8 breasts cutlets - 1 item
How to make italian chicken and rice:
Preheat the oven to 375°. In a greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan, mix the water, rice, tomatoes, cheese spread, onion, garlic powder and 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning. Top the mixture with the chicken pieces/breasts and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and remaining Italian seasoning.Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until chicken is fork-tender and no pink remains. Remove from the oven and let stand for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
