Irish soda bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2/3 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- egg, slightly beaten - 1 item
- buttermilk
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- all-purpose flour - 3 c
- butter, melted - 2 Tbsp
- double-acting baking powder - 1 Tbsp
- dark seedless raisins
How to make irish soda bread:
Preheat oven to 350°. Grease a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan. In a medium bowl, combine buttermilk, butter, egg and raisins. Set aside. In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients; with 2 forks, toss together for about 1 minute. Combine all ingredients and mix until combined. Spoon into prepared pan. Bake 50 to 55 minutes; leave in pan for 1 minute and remove to wire rack to cool.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, Irish.
