Ingredients/Components
- salt - 2 tsp
- cold water - 1 c
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- boiling water - 1 c
- shortening - 1/2 c
- lukewarm water - 1 c
- cakes compressed yeast - 2 item
- flour not sifted - 8 c
How to make icebox rolls:
Dissolve yeast in luke-warm water. Mix salt, sugar, shortening and boiling water. Add cold water, eggs and yeast. Stir in flour. Mix until all flour disappears. Do not knead. Grease top and cover tightly. Put in refrigerator. When wanted, make into rolls and let rise in warm place about 2 hours.
