Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- salt - 2 tsp
- flour - 6 c
- cold water - 1 c
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- boiling water - 1 c
- shortening - 3/4 c
- warm water - 1 Tbsp
- yeast - 1 pkg
How to make rolls:
Pour 1 cup boiling water over shortening in a large bowl. When melted, add sugar, cold water, salt, flour, yeast dissolved in warm water and eggs. Mix well. Cover and store in refrigerator overnight. (Can be kept for 3 to 4 days in refrigerator.)When ready to bake, remove from refrigerator and let stand 1/2 hour. Knead 5 minutes. Shape into 3 dozen rolls. Arrange in greased pans (one 8 1/2 x 11-inch and one round cake pan). Let rise in a warm place (covered with a towel) for 3 hours. Bake at 425° for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove from pans immediately.
