Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- boiling water - 1 c
- shortening - 1 c
- all-purpose flour - 6 c
- yeast - 2 pkg
- lukewarm water - 1 c
- well beaten eggs - 2 item
How to make icebox rolls:
Dissolve shortening and sugar in boiling water. Cool. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. When shortening and sugar mixture is cool, add yeast and eggs, then add flour with salt. Mix well. Place in greased bowl. Cover and refrigerate overnight or until ready to use.When ready to use, roll out to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut out desired size rolls. Place rolls, side by side, on a greased baking dish. Cover; let rise until nearly double in size. Bake at 400° for 10 to 15 minutes.
