Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 1/3 c
  • water - 3 c
  • dry mustard - 1 tsp
  • barley - 1/2 c
  • can 2 c - 1 lb
  • bacon - 1/2 lb
  • envelope onion soup mix - 1 3/8
  • beef for stew, cut into 3/4 inch cubes - 2 lb
  • can Veg-All homestyle-mixed vegetables including juice - 1 oz

How to make hearty beef stew:

Coat beef with flour seasoned with salt and mustard. Cut bacon 1 inch pieces; fry in Dutch oven. Remove bacon pieces; add beef to bacon drippings. Brown beef on all sides. Add soup mix and Veg-All liquid plus water to give you 3 cups. Cover and simme
