  • sour cream - 1 c
  • can cream of chicken soup - 1 item
  • shredded Cheddar cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed - 1 lb
  • chopped onion optional - 1/2 c
  • stick margarine room temperature - 1/2 item

How to make hash brown casserole:

Mix. Pour into large baking dish. Top with mixture of crushed corn flakes or potato chips and melted butter. Cover. Bake at 400° for 1 hour. Leave, covered, until last 10 to 15 minutes. This can be made ahead and refrigerated overnight before cooking.
