Harvard beets
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- cornstarch
- vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- grated orange peel - 1 Tbsp
- orange juice - 2 Tbsp
- can sliced beets - 1 oz
How to make harvard beets:
Drain beets, reserving 2 tablespoons juice. Set beets and juice aside. In a saucepan, combine sugar and cornstarch. Add vinegar, orange juice and beet juice. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 3 to 4 minutes or until thickened. Add beets and orange peel. Heat through. Yields 4 to 6 servings.Recipe categories: American, Side dish, Vegetables.
