  • sugar - 1/4 c
  • butter - 1 Tbsp
  • cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
  • vinegar - 1/4 c
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • 2 can beets
  • water and liquid from canned beets - 1/4 c

How to make harvard beets:

Mix sugar and cornstarch and add water and vinegar. Boil 5 minutes. Add beets. Cook slowly, stirring occasionally until beets are hot. Add butter, salt and pepper.
