Ingredients/Components

  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • olive oil - 1 item
  • sesame oil - 1 Tbsp
  • rice wine vinegar - 1 Tbsp
  • headless shrimp with shells left on - 1 doz

How to make grilled shrimp:

Use fingers to lightly coat shells of shrimp with oil. Put shrimp on the grill over hot coals. Cook 2 to 3 minutes on each side. Meanwhile, mix the vinegar, sesame oil, salt and pepper in a bowl. When shrimp are done, remove from grill and toss with mixture in bowl. Serve hot, letting diners peel and eat their own shrimp.

Note: Cooking shrimp in the shell protects the shrimp and enhances the flavor. Do not overcook as the shrimp will get tough. If kebabs are desired, soak wooden skewers in water for 1 hour before putting shrimp on them and grilling. Makes 2 to 4 servings.
