Green bean casserole
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1/4 c
- butter - 1/2 c
- toasted almonds - 1/2 c
- light cream - 1 c
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- soy sauce - 2 tsp
- hot pepper sauce - 1/8 tsp
- sliced mushrooms - 1 lb
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- can water chestnuts - 1 oz
- sharp Cheddar cheese - 3/4 c
- frozen French-cut green beans - 3 4
How to make green bean casserole:
Saute mushrooms and onion in butter. Add flour and cook until smooth. Add cream slowly, then grated cheese and seasonings. Simmer until cheese melts.Cook green beans in salted water, drain and mix with sauce. Add water chestnuts and top with toasted almonds. Bake at 375° for 20 minutes.
