Ingredients/Components

  • sliced mushrooms - 1 lb
  • medium onion, chopped - 1 item
  • butter - 1/2 c
  • flour - 1/4 c
  • light cream - 1 c
  • sharp Cheddar cheese, grated - 3/4 c
  • hot pepper sauce - 1/8 tsp
  • soy sauce - 2 tsp
  • pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • frozen cut green beans - 3 4
  • sliced water chestnuts - 5 oz
  • toasted almonds - 1/2 c

How to make green bean casserole:

Saute mushrooms and onion in butter. Add flour and cook until smooth. Add cream slowly, then cheese and seasonings. Simmer until cheese melts. Cook green beans in salted water. Drain and mix with sauce. Add water chestnuts and top with slivered toasted
