Green bean casserole
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- cream - 1/2 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
- chopped pimento - 2 Tbsp
- grated sharp Cheddar cheese - 1/2 c
- can condensed mushroom soup - 1 oz
- cooked, fresh green beans - 4 c
- bread crumbs or Fritos, very fine - 1/2 c
How to make green bean casserole:
Combine soup and cream; beat. Blend butter and flour and stir into soup mixture. Add Worcestershire sauce. Cook until thick, stirring constantly. Stir in cheese until melted. Pour over beans; add pimento and add seasoning. Pour into casserole. Sprinkle with crumbs or Fritos, very fine. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes or until mixture is hot and crumbs are browned.
