Greek spinach pie
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 8 item
- butter, melted - 1/2 c
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- cottage cheese - 3/4 lb
- Feta cheese, crumbled - 2/3 lb
- bunch green onions, finely chopped - 1 item
- frozen chopped spinach - 2 pkg
- filo pastry - 1 pkg
How to make greek spinach pie:
Cook spinach and onion together and drain (until very dry). Add Feta cheese, cottage cheese and eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Butter 9 x 13-inch dish. Line with several sheets of buttered filo. Top with spinach mixture. Place 5 or 6 more sheets of buttered filo on top.Bake at 350° until golden brown. Cut into diamonds for appetizer or large squares for side dish.
