Grandma's banana bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- baking soda - 2 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- mashed bananas - 1 c
- ground cinnamon - 1 tsp
- ground nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
How to make grandma's banana bread:
Sift together 2 cups flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg. Cream together shortening and sugar. Blend in eggs and vanilla; mix well. Add dry ingredients and sugar mixture alternately to bananas, mixing just until blended. Combine pecans and 1 teaspoon flour; stir into batter. Pour into greased 9-inch tube pan. Bake in 350° oven for 45 - 50 minutes, or until bread tests done. Cool in pan on rack for 10 minutes, then remove from pan and place on rack.
