Skillet cornbread
Ingredients/Components
- buttermilk - 1 c
- self-rising flour - 1/4 c
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- sugar optional - 1 Tbsp
- self-rising cornmeal - 1 c
How to make skillet cornbread:
Combine cornmeal, egg, flour, buttermilk and sugar if desired. Cover bottom of skillet with cooking oil and sprinkle with cornmeal. Heat pan in oven, then pour cornbread mixture into hot pan. Bake at 450° until brown. Serve hot.Anna Lee loved the good crispy crust.
