German potato salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 Tbsp
- salt
- water - 1/2 c
- all-purpose flour - 1 Tbsp
- cider vinegar - 1/3 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- celery seed - 1/2 tsp
- instant minced onion - 2 Tbsp
- sliced bacon - 1/2 lb
- small red potatoes, cooked and sliced
How to make german potato salad:
Cut bacon into 1-inch pieces. Cook in skillet until crisp. Remove pieces from skillet and drain. Pour off drippings, reserving 2 tablespoons to return to skillet. Blend in sugar, onion, flour and seasonings. Gradually add water and vinegar. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil 1 minute. Add potatoes and bacon pieces. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally 5 minutes, or until heated through. Makes 4 to 6 servings.Recipe categories: Salads, Side dish, Potato.
