  • salt and pepper - 1 item
  • uncooked rice - 1/2 c
  • ground round - 1 lb
  • can V-8 juice - 1 (46
  • heads cabbage - 2 item
  • large jar sauerkraut - 1 item
  • Jimmy Dean sausage hot or mild - 1 lb

How to make german cabbage rolls:

Submerge cabbage in boiling water until they can be separated. Cool to handle.

Combine ground round and sausage with rice, chopped onion and salt and pepper. Separate cabbage leaves and put small amount of meat mixture in leaf of cabbage. Set seam side down in roaster layered with the sauerkraut (which has been drained). Pour V-8 juice over all rolls. Roast 3 to 4 hours until tender in 350° oven. Even better reheated.
