Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- granulated sugar - 3 c
- baking chocolate
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- whipping cream - 1 c
- cream of tartar - 1/8 tsp
- white syrup - 3 Tbsp
How to make fudge:
Mix the first 5 ingredients in pan. Cover pan until mixture starts to boil. Insert thermometer in uncovered pan and cook mixture until thermometer reaches 248°. Do not stir while mixture cooks and do not scrape sides of pan. When mixture reaches 248°, just dump it into a bowl. Add butter and vanilla and walk away from that bowl until the mixture feels lukewarm or cooler. It takes just a few minutes of beating for mixture to reach temperature for pouring into a buttered pie tin or other pan to "set." Cut and enjoy.Recipe categories: Desserts, Candy, Fudge.
