  • eggs - 4 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1 2
  • flour - 3 c
  • butter - 1/2 c
  • almond extract - 1 tsp
  • baking powder
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • can pie filling apricot, cherry or blueberry - 1 oz
  • Beat well for about 3 minutes

How to make fruit swirl coffee cake:

Beat sugar, butter, shortening, flavoring and eggs. Beat well for about 3 minutes. Stir in flour and baking powder. Spread half of batter in a large cake pan. Spread pie filling on batter. Drop remaining batter by spoon over filling. Bake for 45 minutes. Drizzle with glaze while still warm.Glaze:1 c. powdered sugar1 to 2 Tbsp. milk Beat until smooth.
