Fried squash blossoms
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- all-purpose flour - 1/2 c
- garlic salt - 1/4 tsp
- ground cumin - 1/4 tsp
- oil * - 1 Tbsp
- large freshly pickled blossoms - 12 item
How to make fried squash blossoms:
*Additional oil is needed for frying.In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, garlic salt and cumin. In another bowl, beat egg, milk and oil. Add to dry ingredients and stir until smooth. In a skillet, heat 2 inches of oil to 375°. Dip blossoms into batter and fry in oil, a few at a time, until crisp. Drain on paper towels. Keep warm until serving. Yields 4 servings.
