Ingredients/Components
- plain flour
- sugar - 3/4 tsp
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- Add 2/3 cup evaporated milk and 1 beaten egg
- soft butter - 2 Tbsp
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- cinnamon - 1/4 tsp
- cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
How to make fried pies:
Mix into 1/2 cup Crisco shortening with fork or pastry cutter. Add 2/3 cup evaporated milk and 1 beaten egg. Pour to desired consistency. Blend to mixture. Roll out walnut sized balls of dough to make small circles of thin crust. Add filling in middle of each crust, then fold in half and crimp along the edges with fork to seal. Fry the pies in deep hot cooking oil until brown.Filling:2 c. dried peaches3/4 c. sugar2 Tbsp. soft butter pinch of salt1/4 tsp. cinnamon2 Tbsp. cornstarch Cook peaches in a little water until tender.
